Back Beat Records is an amazing story as far as record labels go. Founded in 1957 in Houston, Texas, they were primarily a soul label and only had a few really big hits in their catalog.
But they're still noteworthy for the many releases that became immensely popular and sought after with the underground movement known as Northern Soul that became popular in the U.K during the 1960's.
